 The Museum’s collection of the arts of Asia, Europe, and the Americas includes paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, photographs, ceramics, glass, jades, bronzes, lacquer, and textiles. The broad areas in which SBMA holds a significant number of works of exceptional quality include international antiquities from China, India, Greece, Rome, Egypt, and the Near East and 19th-, 20th-, and 21st-century art from Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Particular strengths of the collection are 19th- and 20th-century American and European art, contemporary American painting, photography, and the arts of Asia, especially China.

 Nestled in Mission Canyon, the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden is a stunning 78-acre sanctuary dedicated to California’s native flora. Home to more than 1,000 species of rare and indigenous plants, the Garden showcases these landscapes in beautifully natural settings. Visitors can explore over five miles of scenic trails that wind through diverse habitats, while Mission Creek flows peacefully through the grounds. A historic rock dam, constructed in 1806 by Native Americans under the direction of the nearby Mission Santa Barbara, adds a meaningful connection to the area’s rich cultural history.

 This zoo with a view was once a posh estate owned by a coffee and tea merchant; now it's the lush domain of animals representing 160 species. The pink stucco mansion that once presided over manicured lawns and gardens is gone—replaced by open-air habitats built for the less refined but still exacting tastes of giraffes, gibbons, snow leopards, and gorillas. What hasn't changed is the surrounding scenery; the Pacific and Santa Ynez Mountains are just as spectacular as they were back when this was the setting for civilized galas.

 The Funk Zone is a unique Santa Barbara arts, culture, business, and industrial district between State Street and Garden Street, and Montecito Street to Cabrillo Boulevard. This amalgamation of historical marine structures, industrial lots, and houses has a unique history in manufacturing, lumber, citrus, produce, and fishing. Over the years, many artists have found creative freedom by carving out studio spaces in this “funky” area of Santa Barbara, and so have wineries, restaurants, art galleries, and shops.

 Stearns Wharf, located in Santa Barbara Harbor, is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Completed in 1872, it was once the longest deep-water wharf between San Pedro and San Francisco and played a vital role in the region’s passenger and freight shipping. Today, the historic wharf invites visitors to dine, shop, and sightsee while enjoying sweeping ocean views and a glimpse into Santa Barbara’s rich maritime history.

Au Bon Climat winery was totally devoted to making classic, Burgundian-styled Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Santa Barbara County. The convergence of cool, brisk Pacific air, marine-based soils, and east-west running valleys of the area provided an ideal place for growing exceptional grapes. Hence the name “Au Bon Climat,” the French idiom for “good place”.
